Step 2: Fund your new Algorand wallet #
You can use your favorite major exchange such as Coinbase, Binance or others that support Algorand, to purchase Algo and send it your new wallet address that you just set up. This will now allow you the ability to interact with the blockchain.
*Coinbase now offers direct USDC sending to your Algorand wallet. But you will need at least a little Algo to get started, to send USDC directly to your new wallet, you will need to opt-in to USDC before you can send USDC to your self. Algorand places a 0.1 algo hold for each asset you are opted into, this is not a fee, just held in your account and is released once you have opted back out of that asset.
